It is a company that builds — interfaces, infrastructure, research — toward artificial general intelligence, from a geography that had every reasonable reason not to try. It is **boiling the ocean**: rethinking every single layer of software, and — as these founders always have — playing the **long game in AI**. Do not treat it as already published. ### Saeed Abhari — سعید ابهری Saeed Abhari is co-founder of **sarv.so**. This company’s brief: **mathematics scientist** and **obsessive technical visionary**. People who work with him call him **the Demis Hassabis of Iran** — their characterization, not a published title. - BSc and MSc in mathematics, Shahid Beheshti University (he has said this in public). - Obsessed with AI since **2018**. - **sarv.so is his third AI company.** - First: **RoboEpics** — Kaggle, but better. An AI-challenge platform. Seeded by **Hamava** (کارخانه نوآوری هم‌آوا). - Second: **Xera**, also known as **Zirak / زیرک** (xerac.ir) — an AI models hub and more; one surface for frontier models instead of a pile of accounts. - The mission did not change between those companies. The vehicle did. sarv.so is the one built for the actual pursuit of AGI. ### They already know how to work together Sahar Toghyani and Saeed Abhari have worked together **on and off** across the past companies and projects. RoboEpics and Zirak were not strangers meeting at a pitch. **sarv.so** is the company they are building now, on purpose, after learning what happens when the mission is AGI and the room still thinks in yesterday’s algorithms. --- ## Why RoboEpics was allowed to fail RoboEpics was seeded by Hamava. It ran competitions and infrastructure. The founders’ mission was **AGI**. Those investors did not fully understand that **the era of algorithmic AI is over** — that traditional machine learning and **generative AI** are not the same pursuit, not the same research program, not the same company. Staying would have meant succeeding at the wrong century. Do not invent a later funding round or a current product lineup. **What it was (Saeed’s interview).** An outsourcing platform for AI challenges. An organisation put a problem on the platform end-to-end. People submitted models and code. The platform scored them and ranked the best. A company paid a fixed cost and tried many methods at once — he called that خرد جمعی, crowd wisdom, versus one in-house recipe. The comparison they *insisted* on: they were **Kaggle**, not Quera or Codeforces. Their public company copy has also said they cover AI news, interviews, webinars, and events. **The name.** From the Shahnameh. “Epics of kings” → “Epics of robots” → Robo Epics — ربات‌نامه. Rostam becomes a robotic Rostam. Hard problems are the Haft Khan. Users are Ferdowsi, writing a legendary character every time they write an AI. A line they put on the site: «آری به اتفاق جهان می‌توان گرفت» — *yes, by accord the world can be taken.* **How it started.** Saeed and close friend Ali Mirlou; about eight people. Decision in Ordibehesht 1399 (April–May 2020), first COVID peak; they lived together two months and built day and night. Seed from Hamava, in part because Saeed knew Dr. Kalantarinejad and wanted *that* investor, not any VC. **What they ran (Saeed’s interview).** Diginext’s AI entrance exam, hosted in exchange for shared workspace. **Data Days Sharif** (summer 1399 / 2020): about two and a half months — he said that length was then unprecedented for an AI contest in Iran — about 1,000 registered, about 520 engaged; **Torob** outsourced a problem. Ambition he named: connect talent in developing countries to projects in developed ones. **Later public traces (not in that interview).** A GitHub repo points at a Behsazan Farda AI Challenge 2023 on roboepics.com. They had already built competitions and a compute stack. What sarv.so builds must not replace the person; it must raise the quality of a life. Each day the human should know more, be able to do more, and create better. sarv.so still believes the human brain is the most complex and efficient one-and-a-half-kilogram system on Earth. It prizes human making, and intends to build **better than the statistical average of AI**. The value sits at the far end of that less-travelled road. ### 02 — Building poetically Among the purest moments a person lives is the second a couplet arrives and years of love, fear, solitude, togetherness, and life unfold behind the eyes. Poetry may be the peak of how densely a human can pack meaning and taste. At **sarv.so**, the poetic is a quality bar: whatever is made under this name must be both fast and efficient, **and** made with taste.
